Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS)
Parental Alienation Syndrome is known as a disorder that usually develops during custody battles. This is described as when the offending parent (usually the mother) makes an attempt to "brainwash" the child(ren) into thinking of the other parent (usually the father) as the "enemy."
Examples include, but are not limited to:
-
Sabotaging scheduled visits with the other parent.
-
Bad mouthing the other parent.
-
Not allowing visits with the other parent, for no legitimate reason.
-
Leading the child(ren) to believe that the other parent was abusive.
-
Refusing child(ren) any contact with the other parent.
